Faculty of Business and Accountancy

This Faculty was officially formed on 1st February 1997, with the main objective of providing business and accounting education at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. With our fast pace of economic growth, our country obviously needs more professionally qualified managers to manage our nation's wealth, especially in our quest towards achieving the Vision 2020. The UM-FBA aspires to be a vital building block towards this end. In the following pages, you will find descriptions of the Faculty profile, its staff and its academic programmes.

A relatively young faculty despite the University of Malaya offering Business and Accounting programmes since 1966, the Faculty of Business and Accountancy has grown rapidly and now has over 60 academic staff conducting courses for 1600 undergraduate students.

The Faculty provides education for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies with the vision of developing financial managers who are highly professional, ethical and able in their duties. From banking to marketing to taxation, the career opportunities for skilled accountants and planners are endless.
